Hello, my name is Dr. Farhad Amiri and I am a Board-Certified Psychiatrist deeply committed to helping people find healing, hope, and happiness. In 2020, I founded Modern Mind Clinic to serve the Michigan community with compassionate and individualized care. I also work on the behavioral health unit at McLaren Oakland Hospital, where I provide support to adults and geriatric patients during some of their most vulnerable times.

I welcome patients from all backgrounds and specialize in offering innovative, evidence-based treatments for those who haven’t found relief through traditional methods. Along with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), I provide Spravato (esketamine) treatment, both FDA-approved therapies for treatment-resistant depression. These cutting-edge approaches, combined with mindfulness, therapy, and lifestyle adjustments, allow me to help my patients achieve personal growth and lasting change.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada and completed my master’s and medical degrees at Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine. My residency training brought me to Detroit, where I trained at MSU – Authority Health. I also completed a fellowship at the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute, which expanded my understanding of the complexities of the human experience. From 2016 to 2019, I served as clinical faculty at Michigan State University, mentoring future physicians.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring new restaurants, and golfing. Above all, I’m passionate about empowering others to lead fulfilling lives and supporting them on their journey towards better mental health.
